Very Affordable And Easy Make-Up

I just thought I'd do a quick post this week on how I did this very quick, cheap and easy make-up look that's quite subtle!

- The first product that I used was the B. Prepared primer which is Superdrug's own brand. Now I really like this primer as it makes your skin super smooth and silky soft, whilst making the foundation glide on very easily. It also blurs most of my pores away, whilst making my make-up last all day!

- Next I used Bourjois 123 CC Cream. When I first bought this I really didn't like it, however now that I have the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, I love it as it blends a lot easier and really helps to even my skin tone! This also has an SPF 15, and is very hydrating. Good for dry skin!

- I then used my Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer, which I'm sure you've all heard of! It blends nicely and adds a real shimmer to your face which makes you look really awake and bright eyed! AMAZING!

- I like to leave my foundation and concealer to sink into my skin for a bit before I set it, so now I did my eyes. For the eye shadow I used Collections Eyes Uncovered Nude Palette. This is such an affordable product and looks really neutral but gives a wow factor! In this picture I used the second shade from the left all over the eye lid, and then worked a little of the darkest shade into the crease of my eye. This adds so much definition to your eyes!

- I then applied my eye liner which is the Rimmel Waterproof Gel Eyeliner. I really don't like the brush it comes with as it's too big for me and it's very difficult to be accurate. Therefore I use the Real Techniques Fine Liner Brush, which make the cat eye flick a lot easier!

- It's at this point I set my foundation, and for this I used Rimmel Clear Complexion powder. I don't use very much of this as I like a bit of a dewy finish!

- I then use my Rimmel Scandaleyes XXtreme mascara which really makes your eyes pop! My first blog post was on mascara where I go into detail about it!

- To finish it off I used a Rimmel Lip Balm 'Keep Calm And Party' which unfortunately doesn't really show up in this picture but adds a nice subtle colour to your lips, whilst keeping them soft!

And heres a couple of pictures of the end result! Links to all products used bellow!

N07 Match Made Service - Review

Now, I have always struggled to find foundations that match my skin tone as I have quite fair skin. I often think I have matched one in the store, but when I step outside into the natural light I find that it's clearly not! Also some foundations dry a completely different colour to that which they first appear on the skin, and can often leave you looking quite orange.

When I first read about the N07 'Match Made Service' I was quite skeptical as it seemed too good to be true; a machine that matches your skin tone to a foundation, surely not?! Yet it does!

The Service:
They don't offer this in every store so if you wish to have it done it's best to look up which Boots do (I will put a link bellow to where it can be found on the website). It's a completely free service and you don't need to feel obligated to purchase any of the products afterwards if you don't wish to! They take the reading on your jawline which is to eliminate the chance of ending up with a definite line between your face and neck. The beautician makes sure that you are satisfied with the colour that the machine has matched you to, and then you are free to explore the the extensive display of products that match your skin tone! My shade is called 'Calico' which matches my skin beautifully!

They have quite a few foundations that all have slightly different coverages and qualities; matte, illuminating, restoring, etc. So you don't have to worry about the which colour to pick, all that should concern you now is what you are looking for from your foundation.

I picked 'Stay Perfect' which hydrates your skin, gives it a dewy glow (without looking shiny) and has very good staying power! Also importantly for me it has an SPF 15 that helps to protect your skin from UV rays, which can really irritate my sensitive skin. I couldn't be happier with this product!

The matching doesn't end there however, this also matches concealers as well; one of which won an 'ELLE BEAUTY AWARD' in 2013. I will also leave a link to this at the end for you.

If you don't like wearing foundation or concealer this service could still benefit you, as it suggests to you some colours of lipstick/ lip gloss that suite your skin tone (as you can see in the first picture)! This really does do all the hard work for you!

Now these products can be quite pricey, however Boots are frequently doing offers and vouchers for £3.00 off make up and £5.00 off skin care, this makes their items a lot more reasonable! I'm very new to all this, but I've set up a twitter and tumbler page that you can follow and I can keep you up to date with any handy deals and offers that I find!

Again if you made it to the end then I am very grateful!
Thanks,
Beth x

Mascara

Now I'm sure most people will have already heard of, or tried this product, but I've only just discovered it! I instantly fell in love. It is so easy to apply and it really does have amazing lasting power! Its waterproof and quite frankly life proof, and it still looks amazing at the end of the day! Benefit boasts a lot of claims for this product however it stands up to all of them!

It doesn't upset my skin, however when it comes to taking it off my make up remover wipes just didn't cut it. I had to rub quite hard to get it off and it did make my eyes sting and go very red. I began to think I'd have to go back to my old mascara! I then thankfully found the simple range which is designed for sensitive skin. Their 'kind to eyes, eye make-up remover' makes it incredibly easy to take off without the need to rub too hard! Simple's range of products is amazing and very importantly, they are well in budget!

That brings me to the other possible draw back, the price. This mascara costs £19.50 which is quite a bit for one make-up product. However all of the reviews says it lasts a long time, so the cost is justified!

All in all I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone!

Alternatively, if you don't wish to spend this much on a mascara, I would highly recommend the Rimmel London "Scandaleyes xx-treme'. This can be bought in both Boots and Superdrug and costs £6.99, which is very reasonable!

The applicater does take a little while to get used as it has two sides; one that's flat for length and then one that's curved for volume. It provides very good coverage of your lashes and is very dark! All in all I found it to be very good and not too clumpy!

If you made it to the end of my first post then you are truly amazing and I really appreciate it, here are the links to all of the products on the Boots website that I've mentioned in this blog!
